1. Dushanbe, Tajikistan

Dushanbe situated on the Varzob River, it is the capital of Tajikistan. On the east bank of the river is Rudaki Park, named for the classical poet. A statue of him stands under an ornate mosaic arch. Nearby is a massive Tajik flag, flying from a towering flagpole. The ancient Tajik warrior Ismoili Somoni is commemorated with a statue and gilded arch. Archaeological finds are displayed at the National Museum of Tajikistan.

The town of Khorugh is the capital of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region in Tajikistan. It is also the capital of the Shughnon District of Gorno-Badakhshan. It has a population of 28,000. Khorugh is 2,200 metres above sea level in the Pamir Mountains at the confluence of the Gunt and Panj rivers. The city is bounded to the south and to the north by the deltas of the Shakhdara and Gunt, respectively. The two rivers merge in the eastern part of the city flow through the city, dividing it almost evenly until its delta in the Panj River, also being known as Amu Darya, or in antiquity the Oxus on the border with Afghanistan. Khorugh is known for its poplar trees that dominate the flora of the city.

Panjakent, is a city in the Sughd province of Tajikistan on the Zeravshan River, with a population of 33,000. It was once an ancient town in Sogdiana. The ruins of the old town are on the outskirts of the modern city. The Sarazm Important Bird Area lies downstream of the city on the tugay-vegetated floodplain of the river.

Murghab is the capital of Murghob District in the Pamir Mountains of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, Tajikistan. With a population of 4,000, Murghab is about the only significant town the eastern half of Gorno-Badakhshan. It is the highest town in Tajikistan at 3,650 m above sea level. 7. Kalaikhum

Qal’ai Khumb or Qal’a-i-Khum, also Kalai-Khumb, is a small town located in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region in Tajikistan on the border with Afghanistan. Formerly it was the capital of the independent statelet of Darvaz. Now it is the capital of the Darvoz District of Tajikistan. Tourist may rest here one overnight and see the beauty of this place.

Varzob is a famous relaxation place among residents and tourists. Mountains of Hissar Range (3000 meter+) surrounding the valley create unusual landscape with a rushing river along the valley. Kairakum a water basin – one of the largest in Tajikistan (Sughd of province), named among tourists by the Tadjik sea. Kairakum the water basin, is created for regulation of a drain of the river Syr-Darya by construction of a dam and Hydroelectric power station. Filling with water has begun in 1950.Most of tourist come at this site to seen this lake and place scene.
